Fort Belvoir FES (E463, T463, BC463) and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a townhouse fire Saturday, September 3, 2010, at approximately 1:19 a.m. in the Woodlawn area of Fairfax County.  The townhouse is located 8604 Woodlawn Court.

Firefighters encountered fire coming from the roof and the second floor of the two-story home upon arrival. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. The home was vacant at the time of the fire. One firefighter was transported to the Washington Hospital Burn Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Damage is estimated at $80,000.

The fire is under investigation.
